The Kent County Council audit opinion has been delayed. For more information read the notice (PDF, 102.0 KB).

2022 to 2023 accounts

Under the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 the commencement period for the exercise of public rights to inspect the 2022 to 2023 accounts and related documents, based on an account’s completion date of 31 May 2023, should include the first 10 working days of June, with inspection dates being between 1 June and 12 July 2023.

The audit of the 2021 to 22 accounts has only just completed on the 31 March 2023. This has impacted on the commencement of the 2022 to 2023 accounts and we will therefore not be in a position to commence the period for the exercise of public rights as set out above.

We will be publishing our 2022 to 2023 accounts on Monday 3 July 2023.

2021 to 2022 accounts

Paragraph 16(1) of The Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 requires the Council to publish a statement:

  • that the audit has been concluded
  • that the statement of accounts has been published
  • of the rights of inspection conferred in local government electors by section 25 of the Act and the address at which, and the hours during which, those rights may be exercised.

As the audit work necessary on Whole of Government Accounts for year ended 31 March 2021 and 31 March 2022 is still to be undertaken, we are unable to formally confirm that the audit has been completed.

Read our audited 2021 to 2022 Statement of Accounts (PDF, 3.8 MB).

The notice of conclusion of the audit alongside the audit certificates will be published once issued.
