The Data Protection Act 1998 requires us to be fair and transparent with people when collecting and using their personal information. To comply with the Data Protection Act, Specialist Children's Services issue a specific privacy notice to all families and children over 12 that have that are being assessed for children's social care services. This explains how personal information is going to be used, what for, who it might be shared with and why.
