Kent Adult Social Services requires providers of domiciliary
care to complete the following Business Information Questionnaire
in order to apply for or renew their existing Approved Provider
Status. Only providers with new or renewed Approved Provider Status
will qualify for tendering for domiciliary care services for the 7
new Extra Care Housing developments for older people which are a
part of the Better Homes Active Lives PFI.
Those organisations who do not wish to tender, will be
offered an opportunity to apply for the new or renewed Approved
Provider Status at a later date.
Please note that the Business Information Questionnaire must be
completed and submitted electronically to proceed to the next stage
of the domiciliary care tender. The questions you will be asked in
the Business Information Questionnaire include:
- the district zones you are interested in tendering for
- the type of service you represent
- the type of organisation you are
- legal status
- equalities legislation
- undertaking of the parties
The Business Information Questionnaire for Better Homes Active
Lives PFI is designed to be easy to complete. Once completed and
submitted you will receive a copy of your completed questionnaire
by email.
In addition to the Business Information Questionnaire,
organisations interested in tendering must also provide:
- a copy of your most recent 'service user survey' report
- Annual Quality Assurance Assessment
- audited accounts for the last two year
- details of the contract department of a maximum of three local
authorities (other than Kent) for which your organisation has
provided services. These details must be provided to us by
organisations who do not currently hold a KCC contract, by Tuesday,
14th October 2008.
Organisations' eligibility for Approved Provider Status will be
measured against the above and CSCI reports, which will be accessed
by KCC as part of the evaluation process.

References
Organisations that have a current contract with Kent County
Council for domiciliary care services will be evaluated against
compliments, comments and complaints received during the life of
the contract. For organisations that fall in this category
references will be sought from the relevant District Managers.
For organisations that are not currently contracted with Kent
County Council or those that provide a service on individual
contracts (i.e. spot contracts), references will be sought from
other local authorities whose details you are required to provide
by Tuesday 14th October 2008.
