Day opportunities
|
We aim to provide a wide range of day opportunities which
cater for individual interests.
Some activities are located in leisure or work places while
others are based in community centres. We also actively encourage
and support people to develop their own interests at a local
level.
We are very aware that mental health problems can often lead to
isolation. In some areas we are developing activities which will be
available during the evenings and weekends.
There are three KCC run
Mental Health Resource Houses in Kent. They are informal drop
in centres for people who are or have suffered from mental health
problems. This can range from the more serious, such as bi-polar or
manic depression and schizophrenia, to mild depression, anxiety and
panic attacks. Every one of these can have a major effect on the
sufferers life in one way or another. The centres help and support
people in what they want to achieve in their life, whether it be
starting off in or going back to work, going to college or
attending adult education classes, even help and support in filling
out forms for benefits. |
