Kent TeleHealth pilot
|
The Kent TeleHealth Pilot, launched prior to the
Whole System Demonstrator programme, is an additional
TeleHealth project aimed at service users with chronic diseases
including heart and lung problems, breathing difficulties and
diabetes. The equipment enables service users to monitor their
blood pressure, blood sugar, weight and oxygen levels. Monitoring
the data from the surgery enables the nurse or GP to see if
everything is going well or decide if further advice, reassurance
or a visit is necessary.
The Kent TeleHealth equipment is currently being piloted among
275 people in Kent. As it is purely a pilot scheme service users
are currently unable to apply for the service. The equipment Kent
is using for the TeleHealth pilot scheme is supplied by the
American-based company
Viterion TeleHealthcare (this link will open in
a new window).
TeleHealth equipment is not an emergency
service.
