Local support groups

Kent County Council provides you with a number of other helpful HIV resources and organisations.

You may find it helpful to meet with others affected by HIV at one of our support groups. These support groups currently meet regularly within the following areas of Kent.

East Kent

  • New Perspective Drop In - Canterbury
    'A safe place for friendship, support and self help. Share skills, exchange information, build networks and encourage positive living'. Contact Carole for details or view the New Perspective leaflet for more information.
  • Drop In - Ashford
    Kent Link is a twice monthly drop-in centre open every second and every fourth Wednesday of the month. It is a confidential service and clients should ring either Steve or Jennie for further information.
  • East Kent Friend - Canterbury
    A befriending service for the LGBT community and people with HIV related problems. Open 7.30pm to 10pm on Tuesdays. Please call 01843 588762 for further details.

West Kent

  • West Kent Positive Support

  • Positive Options, Tunbridge Wells
    'This volunteer, befriending service provides practical, social and emotional support to individuals in West Kent whose lives are affected in whatever way by HIV'.
