Make a new referral

County Duty Service is the main access point for people wanting to contact Social Services concerning themselves or others. If you are currently involved with Social Services, you can contact the person you are involved with directly, but if you want to make a new contact or new referral, you will need to contact the County Duty Service.

How we can help
Sometimes people contact Social Services for assistance if; for instance;

  • Children need protection
  • Families are under stress
  • Children are seriously ill or disabled
  • People with a disability need advice or support
  • People are unable to look after themselves properly
  • Carers need assistance with caring for a vulnerable adult
  • Adults need protection because they are frightened or worried by something
  • Older people need help because they are having difficulty looking after themselves and their home
