Work Preparation Programme

The Work Preparation Programme can be accessed by clients who have been referred through the Disability Employment Advisor at the Job Centre. It is an Employment Service funded scheme.

They may be people who are seeking to return to work after a period of ill health, or have a disability and would benefit from the programme based on their individual support needs.

It offers an opportunity to return to or enter the workplace, to assess their abilities and to build confidence. Programmes are individually tailored and will offer all or part of these components:

• Help with application forms
• CV preparation.
• Interview techniques/support
• A work placement
• Support whilst on the placement
• Job search
  

Employers

With the vital co-operation from Employers the programme has been a successful route into work for many people. When a placement is offered we will:

• Agree hours and times prior to starting the placement
• Carry out a health and safety check
• Support in the workplace where required
• Meet clients and Employer on a regular basis to review progress
