Independent mobility and guiding
|
Moving around safely and confidently is very difficult
with limited hearing and sight.
A person who is visually impaired depends on their hearing to
travel independently. If they become Deaf or hard of hearing and
can't hear or see the traffic, it can be difficult to know when
it's safe to cross a road.
Equally, a deaf person relies on their sight to cross the road,
so if they become visually impaired they will also experience the
same difficulties.
Kent Association for the Blind can offer training and advice
about guiding and independent mobility.
