The use of appropriate equipment can sometimes enable a deafblind person to retain independence and make life easier.

Equipment can include:

• Alerting systems
• Braille and moon products
• CCTV - also know as a video magnifier
• Tactile watches and clocks
• Everyday living products
• Tactile games

The Deafblind Guidance states that a specifically trained person or team should assess deafblind people's needs for assistive technology.

Following an assessment, some equipment is available on long term loan from Deaf Services, Hi Kent or KAB.
