Am I obliged to register my child?

No, the Register is parent led i.e. you have the choice whether or not to register your child. We would encourage you to do so as the Register gives you the opportunity to let us know what sort of services you would like to see provided. From this information we are able to highlight gaps in services and pass this information on to our Planning Department to look at possible ways of developing these. For example in East Kent the Children's Disability Service are currently developing ideas for a Children's Resource Centre in consultation with parents.
