Post-adoption support

image: young boy Our partners NCH Kent Independent Services for Kinship and Adoption (KISKA) work together with our Adoption & Special Guardianship Support (ASGS) team in providing adoption support. KISKA workers specialise in all types of enquiries about post-adoption issues.

They offer help, advice and support to:

  • adopted people wanting to find their adoption records
  • adopted people trying to make contact with their birth families
  • families - by acting as intermediaries during tracing and reunions
  • birth families coping with the effects of adoptions
  • adopters, adoptees and birth families when writing letters to each other via the letterbox service
  • enable contact between adopted children and significant people in their past.

KISKA also provides an advice line Mondays to Fridays between 10.00am - 1.00pm where you can talk to a post-adoption worker and receive help and support.

Another partner is the London-based Post-Adoption Centre (PAC) which offers a range of services for birth parents and relatives, adoptive parents and their children, adopted adults and for professionals working in adoption. PAC's confidential advice line on 0870 777 2197 is available Mondays to Wednesdays and Fridays between 10.00am - 1.00pm and on Thursdays between 5.30pm - 7.30pm.
