The County Adoption Service has a record of excellence
and, is ready to support and guide you through the adoption
process. We are also ready with information and support for those
who have been adopted and fostered - and for their birth
families.
We are responsible for all children in Kent awaiting adoption
and the significant increase in the number of successful adoptions
arranged by our County Adoption Service is one of the county's
major success stories.
- involving experienced adopters in training and supporting
adopters
- appointing a co-ordinator to improve our recruitment of
potential adopters
- ensuring children and adopters continue to receive support
after they have been matched
- being part of the South East Adoption Consortium (SEAC) which
widens the pool of available adopters
We will help you to adopt a child, who is in foster care while
awaiting adoption, or to adopt a child from your extended family,
or to adopt a child from abroad. If you are interested in adopting
we will support you and guide you through the whole process.
Another role for us, as an adoption agency, is to offer
counselling to help you - whether you are embarking on adopting a
child or you are a birth parent considering if you wish to
relinquish your child. Where possible we try to ensure that the
process of adoption is made as smooth as possible - and we have
gained a reputation for finding innovative ways of assisting and
supporting all concerned.
