Welfare rights and benefits

It is important that everyone who is entitled to benefits or help receives all that they are entitled to. The following pages outline details of what benefits can be claimed and by whom; but this list is not exhaustive so it is important you speak to a benefits advisor or other support organisation who can assist you.

Kent County Council does not administer or provide benefits to the public. If you wish to apply for any benefits mentioned on these pages you must contact the relevant authority/agency that administers that benefit.

The pages are split into two main areas:

  • Welfare rights - This page gives information and advice about entitlement to welfare benefits, other allowances, grants and general difficulties.
  • Financial assessment - A Financial assessment service exists to provide benefit assessments and advice about entitlement to welfare benefit.

Ensure you look at the useful websites page for details of other organisations that may be of help to you.
