Your County - Putting Kent First

Kent 4 star Council

What happens?

image: young boy by a wall We will ask you to attend a comprehensive preparation training course.

A Kent Link Scheme Co-ordinator would visit you in your home. They will be able to answer any questions and assess, with you, which disabled children you would possibly be able to support.

To complete the assessment process, we need to make checks and to take up references from personal referees, the police and your doctor

Once approved you will be known as a Kent Link Scheme Carer.

How Kent Link Scheme helps the child

Tom is an active teenager.

His Link carer takes him to a youth club once every two weeks.

He will also take Tom on an occasional trip or for a swim during school holidays.

With his link carer, Tom is able to be much more independent of his parents.
