Daniel's story

Daniel is a young man who has been involved with the Family Group Conference Service which helped him to set up his Family Group Conference. Daniel wanted to look at becoming more independant as an adult with a learning disability.

Here's what he thought about the service:

"Dear Paula,
Just a quick note to say what I thought of these family conferences. I felt that the first meeting went really well. The plans that we made at the meeting are now being put into action. It was quite an innovative idea, bringing family members and outsiders together to discuss the best way forward for me. As you know I have tried various routes before all to no avail I think this approach will give me more of a chance to get something beneficial which will be ongoing. I am looking forward to the next meeting so that we can find out how I can become a little more independent.
