The 'D' Family' - long term

The 'D' family live in St Mary's Bay and have experience as foster carers, joining the Adult Placement Scheme in 2006 in order to continue their work with a young woman who had reached her 18th birthday but needed to continue to receive support. Continuing their support to this person & also offering a short term foster placement, the family also feel able to offer a place in their home to another young woman who needs support and wishes to become more independent.

The 'W' Family - long-term

Situated in Folkestone the main carer and her husband currently have staying with them, long-term, a 40 year old woman working towards independence and a 50 year old man who stays approximately one week-end a month for respite. They also have an elderly dog as a pet. This placement can offer a long stay option and would suit a range of people needing support but without aggressive challenging behaviour or incontinence issues.
