We want to make sure that current and former service users
are at the heart of the Supporting People programme. We'd like
service users to really get involved in helping to make Supporting
People to be as good as it can possibly be. We have made a written
commitment about involving people in the Supporting People
programme.
So far, people who use or have used Supporting People services
have offered us all sorts of help and advice to make things better,
for example:
- Improving our information leaflets
- Writing policies on reimbursing expenses to service users
- Designing the Support Services Directory
- Helping us to decide what services we might need in
future.
We are also getting some help with a strategy to make sure we
carry on involving service users in the future.
If you think you would like to help us now or in the future, we
would like to hear from you. Your views are important and they will
be taken on board as we consider how to change and improve the
services. You can have a say in what new services could be
introduced, how existing services can be improved and what changes
you would like to see.
There are lots of different ways to be involved so you can
choose the one that suits you best.
The People Bank
The People Bank is an easy way of expressing your views of our
services without having to make a regular commitment. You can even
help us from the comfort of your own home. This can involve giving
your views via questionnaires or on new leaflets
Service user panel
This is a forum that meets four times a year to discuss
Supporting People services and enables you to express your ideas
and opinions. There are lots of ways to get involved:
- Feedback on current services
- Supporting People strategy or policy
- Conferences for service users
- Informal coffee mornings/meetings
- Web sites or leaflets we are considering
- Changes to the current programme
- Newsletters/magazines
- Meetings/focus groups
- Becoming a mystery shopper
You can be involved as often or as little as you like. If you
would like more information or would like to be involved, just tell
us how you would like to be involved and how you would prefer to be
contacted.
