ElderGames - the future

In the main, the products of ElderGames will operate in a way that will enable individuals to use internet based games through a range of applications. They will enhance abilities and skills including psychomotor, cognitive, social and socio-economic development. Professionals will monitor those who are using the games and will be able to identify areas of improvement and any deterioration, enabling early therapeutic intervention.

The games will be played on a web based, IT platform. The prototype game is designed for four players, seated at each side of a table. The table has a central screen and an infra-red beam is transmitted across the screen. This will enable the game to have 'multi touch' facilities which are unique to the Eldergames. Cameras sited at each corner of the table allow the game to monitor in 3D. Games such as recognition, matching cards can be played or memory, remembering items on a conveyor belt will be transmitted onto the screen using a projector built into the gaming table.
