Direct payments are local council payments for people who have
been assessed as needing help from social services, and who would
like to arrange and pay for their own care and support services
instead of receiving them directly from the local council.
ElderGames is an innovative European Commission funded research
project with the purpose of developing a series of information
technology based games, which can contribute to improving the
quality of life of older people.
Everyone working with and/or caring for a person over 16 years
old, who may lack capacity to make particular decisions for
themselves, must comply with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 when
making decisions or acting for that person.
Supporting People helps vulnerable people to have a better
quality of life by providing housing-related support services. The
programme helps pay for the services that allow people to live
independently in the community.
