Kent Home Care is the Kent Adult Social Services in house
provider of home care for older people and younger people with
disabilities. The service operates in the whole of Kent except
Medway. The services we provide are:
Active Care
This service is provided for an adult in their own home, for up
to six weeks. It is designed for people who have been discharged
from hospital following some emergency, such as a fracture or
stroke. It will have been decided, medically, that the person is
fit enough to be discharged with recognition that they may need
some assistance to re-adjust to being back at home. With their
permission the Active Care Service staff will visit them to agree a
care plan designed to help the person to become as self-caring and
independent as possible.
The recuperative domiciliary carers who work on Active Care find
the work very rewarding and enjoy working together and helping
people regain their daily living skills.
Longer Term Care at Home
The Kent Home Care Service also employs Home Carers who work
with adults who need long term services to maintain their personal
care needs. All of these people live in their own homes.
The aim of Kent Home Care Service is to help people to live as
independent a life as possible in the comfort and security of their
own homes, thus preventing or delaying the time when they may have
to be admitted to residential or nursing home care.
As a member of the team you would be involved in assisting
people within a particular geographical area which we will agree
with you.
