How can I arrange for a Care Ambassador to
visit?
In the first instance contact us to discuss your needs, either
by emailing
care.ambassador@kent.gov.uk
or telephoning 01622 696020.
What kinds of jobs do the Care Ambassadors
do?
The Care Ambassadors all work in social care roles. You can find
out more in our
Meet the Care Ambassadors section.
Is there a charge for this service?
No, the Care Ambassadors scheme is funded by
Skills for
Care and in Kent and Medway is supported by
Aim Higher. There is no charge for the Care
Ambassadors visiting your group.
What do Care Ambassadors do when they
visit?
The role of the Care Ambassadors is to promote careers in social
care through their own experiences. Each Care Ambassador works in a
different social care role and brings different things to the
scheme. They will try and plan sessions individually for each group
and will try and meet any needs that you have. Care Ambassadors try
to make their sessions as interactive as possible through using
case studies, questionnaires, quizzes and practical activities.
Are there any resources that we can use?
There are many published social care resources available - many
of them you can obtain free of charge. See our
resources section.
How does the Care Ambassador programme link to other
schemes?
Promoting careers in social care is a big job! Care Ambassadors
try to work in partnership with other schemes and organisations to
be as joined up as possible. Some examples of this:
- Open Road Partnership Events
See our
events
diary for details of these Health and Social Care Events aimed
at students. Care Ambassadors provide support by arranging Social
Care professionals to take part in the 'speed dating' activity
throughout the day.
- Kent
Vocational Training Placements (KVTP)
Care Ambassadors support this scheme by organising social care
professionals to visit as part of the KVTP schools
programme.
