About Social Care

We can provide a range of help and support in the community to adults and their carers, so that they may lead independent lives.

Public involvement encourages service users and carers to be involved in the way Kent Adult Social Services plan, provide and review our services.

We have once again retained three star "Excellent" rating in our aim to help the people of Kent live safely and independently in their local communities.

We annually publish full details of our rates and charges, benefit allowances and assessment guidelines, for all our clients.

View our current consultations or look back over past ones. We may ask for your comments on particular projects or services as your views and opinions are always important to us.

Search for and view all of Social Services' publications.

You can search for jobs, access information about types of training and careers available and find out more about the many benefits of working in social care.

Active Lives is our ten year vision for Adult Social Care in Kent.

Care Ambassadors is a new and exciting scheme aimed at raising the profile of careers in social care among young people, teachers, careers advisors and parents. The scheme aims to highlight the opportunities and rewards they can offer.

The Quality Service Awards celebrate the excellent work carried out by staff in Adult Social Care Services in Kent. The nomination period for this year's awards has now closed.

Kent Adult Social Services has produced a number of leaflets and brochures about our services which are available to download. Some of our leaflets are available in alternative languages, British Sign Language (BSL) and as audio versions that you can listen to.

Self Directed Support (SDS) is about ensuring that everyone has choice and control over the support they receive. This may mean that they self manage the support, but they might also choose to have somebody else manage it for them.

A sustainable community is "a development which meets the need of existing generations without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs"- KCC Vision for Kent
