The Kent Volunteers Awards for Volunteering Excellence aim
to seek out volunteers of all ages involved in the whole spectrum
of activities and to recognise and thank them for the work they do
across the county.
The awards scheme is run with the support of Kent County Council
and businesses and has grown to become an annual event. Thousands
of nominations have been received, highlighting the amazing stories
that have encouraged more people to take up volunteering.
Volunteering Excellence Awards 2008
Awards and rewards
Our communities can be likened to giant jigsaws. Lots of small
pieces that when put together form a bigger picture.
Volunteers are important pieces in our community jigsaw.
Across Kent volunteers are undertaking many different roles, in
homes, schools, local services, the countryside, sports, leisure
and much more.
They are the link pieces.
Our challenge to you is to find the people who are the
link pieces in your community and tell us about
them, individuals or groups.
Let us give them the recognition they deserve, as without them
the bigger picture would be incomplete!
Rewards
Everyone who is nominated will receive a certificate in
recognition of their work and commitment.
Winners will receive £400 and Highly Commended will receive £250
for the volunteering project of their choice.
They will also receive a trophy and certificate, together with a
pair of theatre tickets.
