Volunteer centres and bureaux
Volunteer centres and bureaux are members of Volunteering
England and work with individuals, groups and organisations to
support and develop volunteering in their community.
For an individual wanting to volunteer, it means having a place
to go to look at a wide range of different
opportunities and, with guidance and encouragement, to find the
right one for them.
For organisations needing volunteers to enrich and enhance its
activities, the centres and bureaux give access to expertise in
areas of good practice in volunteer recruitment which could include
task descriptions, retention, support and management.
The centres and bureaux across Kent reflect the unique character
of the area each serve but all share the principle, that voluntary
activity is an expression of individual free will which enables
people to participate, to offer service and to effect change.
