Winners
Angela Jones of Countywide
Angela has worked tirelessly to set up a youth division at
Canterbury Gypsy Support Group and address the needs and rights of
young Gypsies and Travellers in health, schools and youth services.
Angela is actively working with young people from settled
communities to promote a greater understanding of young Gypsies and
Travellers.
The Dandelion Trust for Children of Maidstone
The Dandelion Trust works with children with significant
emotional and behavioural difficulties, often with a history of
abuse or neglect, and helps them to build self-worth and
self-confidence. Through a creative programme of work and play, the
volunteers involve parents and carers to help children strengthen
relationships in the home environment and engage positively at
school.
Eve Green of Rochester
Eve delivers weekly specialist dyslexia training to individuals
supervised by the Probation Service, enabling the group to learn to
read and write. Eve is very enthusiastic and has inspired her
client group to achieve level one certificates, something they
would never have thought possible. The individuals gain self-esteem
and improve their employability and rehabilitation.

Lucy Thompson of Tonbridge
Lucy supports staff at YWCA West Kent Young Women's Project and
gives one to one support to young women working towards accredited
programmes.
Second Rainham Guides Young Leaders: Katherine Ince, Charlotte
Golding, Amy Campbell-Barr and Charlotte White
The Guides are awarded for their willingness to organise
activities, take on extra responsibilities and their overall
commitment to Guiding.
Bob Salter of Herne Bay
Bob has worked tirelessly as a dyed in the wool
volunteer with over 30 years involvement with Scouting, 12 years
working as a Friend of the Dominican Prior in Canterbury and seven
years working with special needs young people at the Wild Wood
Trust in Herne Bay.
