Housing and commercial land

Housing and commercial land monitoring is undertaken to meet statutory, policy and research requirements. There are two main sources of information. The first is site surveys, which are undertaken annually in every Kent local authority district. The second is statistical information which is gathered from other reliable sources to supplement the annual site surveys. Information from both sources is collected, assessed and presented as reports, tables, charts and maps, depending on the requirement. The aim of monitoring is not only to record past trends but to project and plan for future requirements.
